About me

I’m David: a Martech specialist with 7 years experience (and counting). Possessing a curious and experimental nature, I’ve always been fascinated by technology and even during the early stages of my career, I sought out opportunities to learn new skills: kicking off with HTML and CSS for landing page design. Later after transitioning to Retention Marketing and then to MarTech, I picked up some SQL, Javascript and Python.
I’m often asked: what’s the best way for a marketer to learn these kinds of skills? The answer: set yourself a project. Find something you want to do and then take advantage of the wealth of internet resources available to achieve it.
I created Martech Hacks to share my experiences as a self-taught Marketing Technology specialist, along with technical project ideas, workarounds and how to fully exploit your tech stack. I hope you find it useful!
